This Sunday I am running a packed Off Camera Flash workshop. Even though I’ve run these before I am SUPER excited by this one.
Why?
Several reasons
1) I’m shooting with my new D800e (first shoot in anger)
2) We are shooting in the Sydney Prop Specialist Studios (and in fact all through their facilities)
3) They have made their props available for us to use
4) I’m working with a producer called Laya who is fantastic and has put together some great themes… here’s a sneak preview of what Layla is cooking up.
First Up – Theory and Light Modifier Demos
- Next – A group setup with a ballerina
- Then Lunch
We then split into two groups and work with our models and make up artists to shoot the following four concepts
- Bridal Shoot
- Brit Pop
- BladeRunner (think big industrial fans, backlit coloured lights, smoke machine etc.)
- Alice In Wonderland – With 1950s housewives
This is going to be so much fun…
I’ll post some photos from the workshop next week.

Looks great Brett, I’d love to come if you have another some day – no way I could get there this week and I’m practically camera less at the moment anyway. If you do schedule a further one, please let us know (I am subscribed to this blog) as far forward as possible.
The props and atmosphere look great!
Hi Brent,
Unfortunately I only just got the mail on your workshop for this weekend. Love to come along to another should you run it.

Hey STeve
I’ll definitely be running the workshop again, I’ve had quite a few people indicate interest.
Once I post the shots from this Sunday I’ll pick a date for the next one.
Brent
Cool mate…have fun!
Sounds like heaps of fun
Makes me wish I was doing your workshop again
Looks like a great studio and concepts! Looking forward to the images from this one.

Do you do location based workshops?
I would love to see this resource in Geotog.com
